    Paula Scales BVSc (Hons) MRCVS

    Paula graduated from the University of Bristol in 2007 and has worked in farm practice ever since; first in Derbyshire, then at the University of Nottingham before relocating back home to Shropshire in 2012. Paula has a keen eye for detail, a reputation for challenging the status quo, and sees great value in facilitating a whole team approach to herd health. She also has 3 young boys and helps run the 300 head beef unit at home.

    Tom grew up in North Shropshire and graduated from the University of Bristol in 2014, returning to Shropshire to work in large animal practice. Tom’s key interests lie in routine fertility work, bull fertility examinations and managing the ever-present risk of bovine TB. Outside of work he enjoys shooting and working his team of Spaniels.

    Katie grew up in Yorkshire and recently graduated from the University of Liverpool. She is looking forward to getting stuck into all aspects of farm practice, and has a particular interest in youngstock management. In her spare time, Katie enjoys playing netball in a local league, bouldering, and walking in the countryside with her dog.

  • Amy Cox

    Amy Cox BVSc CertAVP (Cattle) MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Following graduation from Liverpool in 2012 Amy spent her first couple of years in the Brecon Beacons working in mixed practice. Realising her interests lay in farm animal work, she decided to move back to her roots in Cheshire, where she worked in farm animal practice for over 7 years before joining the team at HFV. She is passionate about all aspects of farm animal medicine and surgery, and has gained a reputation for her work in flock health and sheep medicine. She also undertakes on-farm training and education in medicine usage and antibiotic stewardship. Outside of work Amy plays in two netball leagues; enjoys weekends away walking in the Yorkshire Dales; and is also a keen baker!

    Pete graduated from the University of Bristol in 2007 and has since undertaken a variety of jobs, fitting many strings to his bow: He's a qualified vet, a web programmer, our practice manager and Paula's secretary. He keeps the wheels running smoothly on the HFV machine. Outside of work he enjoys playing hockey and board games with his 3 children.
