Our Approach

Our approach

  • Bespoke Advice For Your System

Our guidance is practical, realistic and tailored to your farm - not generic protocols. We take the time to understand your set-up so we can offer solutions that genuinely suit your livestock and the way you work - insight that only comes from knowing your farm properly, and having meaningful, two-way discussions.

  • Part of Your Farming Community

Together we're building a strong community of Haywood Farmers: A focused group of like-minded, progressive farmers who share expertise and build lasting relationships through training, farm visits and regular social events. It's a community we're proud to be part of.

  • Continuity You Can Count On

We have the breadth of expertise you might expect from a larger team, but we're still small enough to stay in touch with what's happening on your farm. You'll see the same vet each visit, meaning we know your herd, your goals and how your farm operates.

  • Insight-Driven Veterinary Support

We analyse your data and herd records to spot patterns early, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for real improvements. Using modern software and evidence-based insights, we help you make practical, impactful decisions for your livestock and farm. We're genuinely invested in the success of your farm, and when things don't go to plan, we work with you to put them right.

  • Here When It Matters

We attend promptly, work around your routine, and keep communication efficient. When something needs doing, you get reliable, timely support from a team who knows your setup, operates to high biosecurity standards, and provides year-round, 24/7 emergency care.

  • Efficiency-First Practice Design

We've built the practice around an efficient, straightforward journey for farmers. By keeping our operating area local and contact direct with vets, we avoid unnecessary steps. From the first phone call to being on farm, everything is designed to work smoothly and respect your time.

Independent, not isolated

Haywood Farm Vets provides a 24 hour emergency service, 365 days a year for our farms. But we do more than this: our fundamental aim is to develop the health, productivity and resilience of your stock. We do this by knowing your farm, your team and your herd. This is a collaboration.

We believe there is real value in our independence. It allows us to make decisions based on what's right for your farm - not corporate targets. But this does not mean we stand alone. Haywood Farm Vets is a proud member of XLVets - a group of like-minded, independent farm practices who share knowledge, training and expertise to define the highest standard of farm veterinary care.

This network and shared resources also mean we can provide our clients with a highly competitive and secure supply of veterinary medicines, backed by shared clinical experience and support.
